BINTULU: Warmonger Training Academy Miri delivered a commanding performance at the Bintulu Amateur Muaythai Challenge Vol. 3 International, clinching one Pro Fight trophy, 4 gold medals and a silver here on Sunday (June 29).
Leading the charge was Koo Jinfuh, 29, who claimed the Pro Fight trophy with a composed points victory over Spencer Anak Tony of Muaythai Kenyalang.
Rising stars Danny Huang, Randall Chia Ly Xuan and Romero Agan all secured gold in their respective bouts.
Huang, 20, outpointed Ainul Fazul from Phoenix Meranek Gym, while Chia thrilled the crowd with a knockout win over Jordan Jerua.
Romero, also 20, displayed solid ringcraft to earn a points win against 17-year-old Mohamad Azmi Abdullah of Sematan Muaythai Club.
In the women’s category, Asnurifah Was, 28, edged Brunei’s Lydia Harry Lai, 37, of Silverback Muaythai in a close contest to earn gold and international recognition.
The academy’s youngest competitor, Colin Felix Usang Balan, 15, showed promise but fell short on points against Aizan Danish of Muaythai Kenyalang.
The Muaythai tournament took place from June 27 to 29 at Naim Street Mall.
