BINTULU: The Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) has opened two waste disposal sites to help residents affected by the recent floods dispose of garbage more efficiently.

According to a statement from BDA, this measure aims to ensure that the surrounding area remains clean and safe while reducing the risk of disease outbreaks following the floods.

The Kuala Segan waste disposal site is designated for bulk waste, including furniture and mattresses. It operates daily from 7 am to 7 pm and will remain open until Feb 14.

For domestic waste such as food scraps, cardboard, and paper, residents can use the landfill site in Kidurong, which operates from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm.

Residents requiring assistance with waste disposal can contact Gan Chung Yuek at 019-8455881 or Yusri Joll at 013-8392122.

BDA also reminded residents to dispose of waste according to the designated type and location.

“Regular waste disposal is an ongoing effort to maintain environmental cleanliness and prevent the spread of disease after the floods,” the statement read.
