KUCHING: The Sarawak government is committed to enhancing the quality of water and electricity supply services for its people, Deputy Minister of Utility and Telecommunication Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi assured.

He said that international collaboration, particularly with experts from the Netherlands, has driven progress in water and energy resource management through the exchange of expertise.

“Our recent discussions underscored the important role of the Netherlands, which has contributed to improving water and electricity supply quality in four key regions globally, including Sarawak.

“Experts from the Netherlands are also expected to participate in an upcoming international conference in Kuching,” he was quoted as saying in a news report by TVS.

Abdul Rahman further said the collaboration has enabled the Sarawak government to develop innovative projects and solutions in partnership with the private sector, benefiting the state’s infrastructure development.

“The Sarawak branch of the Malaysia Water Association is actively involved in discussions to integrate this expertise into the state’s water and electricity supply systems,” he added.

Emphasising the government’s commitment, he stated that Sarawak is dedicated to leveraging international technology and expertise to enhance water and electricity services, ultimately improving the quality of life for its people.

Yesterday, the Netherland Ambassador to Malaysia, Jacques Werner paid a courtesy call on Abdul Rahman at his office here.
