KUCHING: World No. 8 men’s doubles pair, Man Wei Chong and Kai Wun Tee, in stunning fashion, showed Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsaini the exit after beating the pair 21-7, 21-16 in the Malaysia Masters quarter-final at the Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur on Friday.

Initially, the World No. 2 pair took the lead after winning a highly contested 21-19 first set win against them.

However, the triumph ended after Wei Chong and Kai Wun gave them a run for their money in the second round – dominating the Malaysian top seeds with a 21-7 set win.

The third set saw a different outcome played out in the beginning, with each side displaying a degree of hunger for national glory, in a tightly knit contest of grit.

Fortune, however, did not side with the 2025 India Open champions as the scales tipped in favour of Wei Chong-Kai Wun, giving them a solid 21-16 set win over the pair.

Next up, the Malaysians will face off against World No. 1 pair, Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen of Denmark, in the semis.
