The Kenyalang (hornbill) is appropriate as GPS logo because it signifies the importance of protecting Sarawak rights, just as the bird is a protected species.

PRS deputy president Datuk Joseph Salang Gandom said the logo represents the commitment of the present leadership in protecting the state’s rights and

integrity.

“Kenyalang is a majestic but rather humble bird, thus it is the attitude that we all should emulate,” he told New Sarawak Tribune yesterday.

When asked on PRS’ expectations of GPS, Salang said the party hoped to see the coalition in delivering transparent, clean and inclusive administration of the state.

“This will galvanise the enthusiasm into seamless support for the coalition to continue leading Sarawak in its stride towards achieving a developed status,” he pointed out.

On GPS’ chances in the 12th State Election in 2021, Salang said it would emerge victorious if the leaders show commitment in =

serving the people.
