KUCHING: Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) has issued a stern warning against acts of violence against its duty personnel.

In a statement issued here yesterday, the utility company said it would not hesitate to take legal action against such parties or individuals.

“SEB will not tolerate such actions against its personnel,” it said in reference to a recent incident of assault on a technician of its utility arm, Syarikat Sesco Berhad (Sesco).

In the incident that occurred at Jalan Sungai Petai, Bintangor, the technician had to undergo outpatient treatment at Sarikei hospital for injuries sustained during a scuffle with a customer.

According to the statement, the customer, who operates his own business, was furious over a disconnected power supply for non-payment of bills.

When the three-member team returned to reconnect supply, the customer attacked the technician.
