BAU: A wet kitchen detached from a house in Kampung Sudoh, Singgai here, was destroyed in a morning fire today.
Firefighters from Bau station were dispatched to the scene, about 17km away, after receiving an emergency call at 10.15 am
Upon arrival, they found that the separate wet kitchen was engulfed by flames and the firefighters had to use water from a nearby fire hydrant.
Fortunately, the fire did not spread to the main single-storey house, sparing it from any structural damages.
The flames were brought under control at 10.50 am, and no injuries were reported as no one was present during the incident.
Once the situation was deemed safe from any potential reignition, the team ended the operation at 11.20 am.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
