KUCHING: KPJ Kuching Specialist Hospital has donated a wheelchair to Tchee Fah Hin,66, the father of Tchee Kiom Joon, 24, who was killed in the CityOne Megamall blast recently.
Besides the wheelchair, the hospital also presented grocery items to Tchee and his family for their daily use and consumption.
“We were saddened by the incident and needed to respond quickly. We learnt that the father was having difficulties moving by himself due to his age and health.
”Therefore, we decided it was best to donate a new wheelchair to him so that he could move around the house and outside.
“We hope the donations can help ease the burden of the family after losing one of their members,” said KPJ Kuching Operation Manager Thomas Ho.
He added that the donations were part of the hospital’s responsibility to the community and it was the duty of KPJ as an organisation to help those in need.
“We are the first hospital to give such donations to the family and with the contributions today, we hope more people will help the families affected by the incident,” he added.
Among those who visited Tchee to present the donations were KPJ Kuching’s Finance Manager Muhammad Azfar Kamar Ruddin, Customer Service Executive Suriani Ahmad, Public Relations Executive Khairul Adzlan Alias and Marketing Executive Tristan Lai.
