MIRI: The Sumbangan Keperluan Asas Sarawak (SKAS) initiative has brought much-needed relief to Sarawakians, especially those grappling with financial challenges, according to the Wireless Walk Miri Traders’ Association.
Its chairman Mohamad Abdullah Jamin extended his appreciation to the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government and Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg for the ongoing support through various assistance programmes.
“We extend our deepest appreciation to the GPS government and Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg for their continuous support through various assistance programmes, from the COVID-19 relief initiative, Bantuan Khas Sarawakku Sayang (BKSS), to the present SKAS scheme,” he added.
He noted that initiatives such as SKAS demonstrate the government’s dedication to prioritising the well-being of the people, ensuring their needs are met, particularly during times of economic uncertainty.
“This aid not only eases the financial burden on the people but also reflects the government’s steadfast determination to safeguard community welfare,” he added.
He expressed hope that the SKAS programme would continue and be expanded further, allowing more Sarawakians to benefit while strengthening the spirit of unity within the community.
