KUCHING: Wisma Saberkas Management Corporation has warned members of the public over a growing number of rental and pre-order scams that are misleading unsuspecting individuals.
The management clarified that no new tenants or major shop openings are scheduled for next year, despite claims circulating online or in person.
“If you encounter individuals or advertisements claiming that a new shop is ‘Coming Soon’ and requesting early payments to secure goods, deposits for memberships, or other financial commitments, presenting them as legitimate opportunities, please be advised that they are completely false. Wisma Saberkas is not involved in any such transactions and these claims are unauthorised,” the corporation said.
Members of the public are urged not to hand over any money to individuals making these promises, and anyone who has fallen victim should report the matter to the police immediately.
The management also encouraged people to notify Wisma Saberkas to help protect the community from further scams.
