KUCHING: Wolfpack Rugby Club began their TNC HEPA UNIMAS Rugby Championship campaign in commanding fashion, defeating UNIMAS Lycan 10-0 and UNIMAS Assassin 24-0 to underline their top-tier ambitions.

The team’s dominant start reflects their preparation and hunger to be among the best in the tournament, as they continue to blend experience and youthful energy across their lineup.

“Our expectation for this series is to be the best version of ourselves, both individually and as a team. Our target remains the same: to be one of the best teams in Sarawak,” said club president, Merrill Demornay Robin.

Wolfpack’s squad features players aged between 18 and 36, creating a strong balance of maturity and athleticism.

While there are no first-timers in the side, several junior players have stepped up with impressive technical and tactical skills, adding depth to the club’s game plan.

Robin attributed the team’s consistency to their disciplined training routine and shared commitment to improvement.

“We usually train three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

“For us, every bit of hard work is important for self-improvement and, most importantly, for the team,” he told Sarawak Tribune today when contacted.

He added that the club’s culture emphasises teamwork and accountability, which have been key to their recent success.

With two straight victories and clean sheets, Wolfpack Rugby Club are positioning themselves as serious contenders in the tournament which runs from November 1 to 2, 2025, at the UNIMAS Synthetic Rugby Field, featuring 16 teams from across Sarawak.

The team now aims to maintain momentum and continue showcasing their trademark aggression and cohesion as the competition intensifies.
