SIBU: A 46-year-old woman had a narrow escape after the car she was driving collided with a timber lorry along Jalan Selangau-Sibu last night (May 9).
The impact was so severe that half of her car ended up crushed beneath the lorry.
Miraculously, she survived with only minor injuries.
Sibu Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Chief, Andy Alie, said they received an emergency call at 8:36 pm and immediately dispatched a team to the scene, about 12 kilometres from the Selangau station.
“When our team arrived, they found the woman still seated in the driver’s seat.
“She was conscious and, thankfully, not trapped,” he said in a statement today.
The woman was handed over to paramedics and taken to Selangau Health Clinic for further treatment.
The operation ended at 10:35 pm.
