KOTA SAMARAHAN: A woman narrowly escaped a fiery end after her car caught fire following a two-vehicle collision at the Samarahan Expressway late last night (Apr 9).

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the incident occurred at 11.10 pm involving a Proton Saga with two men onboard and a Toyota Vios driven by a woman.

Firefighters from Kota Samarahan station were dispatched to the scene, about 13km away, after receiving an emergency call.

Upon arrival, they discovered that members of the public had already rescued a woman and two men from the wreckage.

All three sustained minor injuries and were later taken to the hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, firefighters extinguished the car fire using water from their fire engine. The vehicle was completed destroyed in the incident.

The operation ended at 11.51pm.
