KUCHING: A local woman sustained leg injuries after the kitchen of her house collapsed at Kampung Pulo Hilir early this morning (Oct 19).
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from Petra Jaya station were dispatched to the scene, about 8km away, following an emergency call received at 3.35 am.
Upon arrival, the team found that the kitchen of a village house had collapsed, trapping the 37-year-old woman’s leg beneath the debris.
Firefighters immediately worked to free the victim, who had fallen during the collapse.
She was successfully rescued shortly after and handed over to medical personnel for immediate treatment.
The rescue operation ended at 3.55 am after the situation was deemed safe. The exact cause of the collapse remains unclear.
