SERIAN: A woman sustained injuries on her left leg following a two-vehicle collision at the U-turn junction, Kampung Munggu Limo on Tuesday (Oct 28).

The accident happened at around 1.50pm when a Perodua Alza collided with a Toyota Avanza. The impact left the 62-year-old victim trapped in the front passenger seat of the Alza.

The driver of both vehicles escaped unharmed in the crash. It is unclear how many individuals were in the vehicles.

Firefighters from the Serian station were dispatched to the scene, about 5km away, following an emergency call.

Upon arrival, they found the injured victim still pinned in her seat and used hydraulic rescue tools to pry open the door and extricate her.

The victim was handed over to paramedics for initial treatment before being taken to the hospital for further care.

Once the situation was deemed safe, the team ended the operation at 2.28pm.

The exact cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
