SIMANGGANG: A female driver suffered head and leg injuries following a two-vehicle collision along Jalan Tanjung Bijap on Monday (Nov 24).

The accident, involving a Perodua Kancil and a three-tonne lorry, occurred around 4.50 pm, leaving the woman injured inside the damaged Kancil.

Firefighters from the Sri Aman station were dispatched to the scene following a distress call.

Upon arrival, the team forced open the car door with a rescue tool before placing the victim on a stretcher and handing her over to paramedics for further treatment.

Meanwhile, the lorry driver escaped unharmed.

Once the situation was deemed safe for other road users, the team ended the operation and returned to their station.
