SIBU: A woman was killed and her husband injured after their motorcycle collided head-on with a Toyota Vios along Jalan Sibu-Durin this morning.
Sibu Police Chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili said the district’s Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division received the report at 8.35 am.
“Investigations found that the 52-year-old rider was exiting a junction on the left side of the road when she collided with a Toyota Vios driven by a 42-year-old man coming from Sibu.
“She sustained severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, while her 63-year-old husband, who was riding pillion, suffered a fractured right wrist and was taken to Sibu Hospital for treatment,” he said.
The motorcycle and car both sustained front-end damage.
An investigation paper has been opened under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
