Woman killed in early morning crash on Jalan Penrissen

KUCHING: A woman was killed after the Perodua Kancil she was driving crashed into a tree along Jalan Penrissen early this morning (Apr 4).

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the single-vehicle accident occurred near the Penrissen Army Camp at Mile 8, with an emergency call received at 2.40 am.

Firefighters from the Kota Sentosa station arrived at the scene six minutes later and found the victim trapped in the driver’s seat and unconscious.

She was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel from the Health Ministry.

Rescuers extricated the victim using Road Traffic Accident (RTA) equipment before handing her over to the police for further action.

The operation ended at 4.28 am after the area was declared safe.
