KUCHING: A local woman sustained leg injuries after her pickup truck crashed along Jalan Stephen Yong this morning (Dec 9).

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from the Batu Lintang station were dispatched to the scene, approximately 8km away, after receiving a distress call at 6.57 am.

Upon arrival, they found the 23-year-old driver’s legs trapped in her seat, and extrication works were carried out to free her.

Once rescued, the injured victim was handed over to paramedics and transported to the hospital for further medical attention.

Meanwhile, a young boy, estimated to be five or six years old, was reportedly unharmed in the accident and was rescued from the vehicle by passers-by.

The team concluded the operation at 7.58 am after ensuring the situation was safe.
