KUCHING: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Women’s wing plays a vital role in ensuring electoral success for the party, acting as a driving force behind voter engagement.

PBB Wanita chief Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah, said women’s contributions extend beyond politics into broader community development.

“Their focus and dedication make them indispensable in mobilising support for the party, particularly during elections,”she said.

Fatimah who is Women, Early Childhood, and Community Well-being Development Ministe said this during an interview at her office here Tuesday (Feb11).

She highlighted the importance of both traditional and digital approaches in securing votes.

“The strength of women in securing votes lies in their ability to engage closely with voters, approaching them directly, even from house to house.
“Now, with digitalisation, our approach to securing votes is no longer just traditional but also incorporates new methods.

“We see both approaches as still relevant — the old methods remain effective, while the new ones must be adapted to enhance our ability to win votes. Tracking voters is crucial to securing victory for our candidates,” she said.

She emphasised that the meticulous nature of voter outreach demands strong attention to detail and focus — qualities that women naturally possess.

She believes this strength will be key in ensuring the success of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidates in the next state elections.

Fatimah said the women’s movement has a clear roadmap for 2025 and beyond.

“One of the key priorities is preparing for the next elections, particularly in training new grassroots leaders.

“Since some of our members and grassroots leaders are new, there is a need for education, training, and mentorship. We will implement a mentoring process to ensure they can fulfill their responsibilities effectively,” she said.
