Women injured after car plunges into four-metre drain

SIBURAN: Two women were injured after the car they were travelling in plunged into a four-metre-deep drain along Jalan Kuching-Serian early today.

The accident occurred at around 4.50am in front of the Siburan fire and rescue station, prompting six firefighters to rush to the scene.

About three minutes later, the team arrived and found the vehicle in the drain.

Fortunately, both victims had managed to get out of the vehicle on their own and were not trapped.

The women were taken to hospital for further treatment. The extent of their injuries were not immediately known.

The rescue operation at 6am.
