KUCHING: Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) women chief Datuk Seri Doris Brodie yesterday said Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) president Datuk Seri Wong Soon Koh’s remarks on
why PSB chose to quit the state government (https://www.newsarawaktribune.com.my/psb-aims-its-guns-on-gps/) were rather conflicting and confusing.

She pointed out that it seemed to be a case of cakap tak serupa bikin (not walking the talk) for Wong.

“How can Wong say he would do everything to help Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg to work hard for the people and Sarawak, that he would remain the best of friends with the chief minister and pledge his support to him when on the other hand, he wants PSB to contest many seats in the coming state election?”

“He is speaking with forked tongue. As mentioned in ST Online, I agree that it seems Wong and his party’s intention is to topple the state government led by Abang Johari in next election,” she said.

At a “ngiling bidai” Gawai ceremony organised by PSB Simanggang branch at the Sri Aman Civic Centre in Sri Aman on Saturday, Wong had said the freedom to contest many seats in the next state election was one of the reasons PSB chose to quit the state government.

“If PSB joined GPS (Gabungan Parti Sarawak), we would have to fight for the distribution of seats with Sarawak United People’s Party,” he added.

Personally, Doris felt the statement was an act of hypocrisy on Wong’s part which belittled the wisdom of the chief minister, who is the GPS president.

“Our CM’s message is clear. He had clearly said that ‘when you touch one, you touch all’ meaning GPS is one big family and we are united.

“If anyone fights GPS or any of its component parties, we will stay united and consolidated and fight them together as a team in GPS,” she added.
