KUCHING: A worker who was trapped underneath a jetty in Marudi was rescued by firefighters last Friday.

According to State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a team nine personnel from Marudi fire station, led by Senior Fire Officer II, Awang Busrah, rushed to the scene to rescue the victim after being alerted on the incident at 5.30pm.

It was reported that the victim who was installing pipes by himself underneath the jetty around 5.20pm was trapped for about 45 minutes before he was rescued around 6.10pm.

The victim was then handed over to paramedics who took him to Marudi Hospital for treatment.
