KUCHING: The claims that certain individuals are representing the Minister of Works Baru Bian has been refuted by the minister himself.
He said that it had come to his attention that certain individuals have been claiming to be his representatives and offering to arrange meetings for the purpose of securing projects and other matters.
He added that he has not appointed anyone to act on his behalf in Sarawak or anywhere in Malaysia except for the offical staff who were employed in his office at the Works Ministry.
“All projects under my Ministry will be awarded by open tender and there will be no preferential treatment for any bidders.
“Anyone who has been approached by individuals purporting to be my assistant/best friend/agent is advised to not to be misled, even if they were shown photos of these individuals taken with me as I normally oblige photo requests from members of the public,” he said on his facebook page yesterday.
