KANOWIT: The inaugural Management and Computer Workshop for Longhouse Secretaries in the Ngemah constituency was organised at the RASCOM Resettlement Scheme in Nanga Ngungun, here recently.
The workshop aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) secretaries.
The workshop, held in collaboration with the NADI Centre in Nanga Ngungun, brought together 32 participants, each representing their respective JKKK from SPS RASCOM Nanga Ngungun.
It focused on two key areas: basic computer skills and management, both essential for improving the performance of JKKK secretaries in their administrative roles.
Ngemah assemblyman Anyi Jana, who officiated at the event, said it is important for secretaries to be well-versed in their responsibilities.
He urged all workshop participants to take full advantage of the opportunity to gain knowledge related to computer use and JKKK management.
“There are still many JKKKs in the Ngemah constituency who have yet to master or become proficient in preparing meeting minutes, correspondence, reports, and similar tasks. This workshop aims to assist all JKKK secretaries in performing these duties correctly,” said Anyi.
Organising committee chairman Vester Selo said the workshop focuses on two main areas, namely management and computer skills.
“Participants will first be taught basic computer skills before moving on to the management segment. The computer section will be fully handled by the NADI Nanga Ngungun team, while I will personally conduct the management segment,” said Vester.
Modules taught in this workshop include basic computer skills, meeting minutes writing, official correspondence, reports, memorandums, minute papers, and more.
The NADI Centre also offers other courses such as entrepreneurship, health, and marketing.
