KUCHING: A free one-day mental health workshop, RAKAN Sarawak Destiny Movers Bintulu 2026: Unmask the Mind to Thrive and Flourish, will be held at Dewan Premier Maktab Rendah Sains Mara (MRSM) Bintulu on April 18.

The event moves beyond mere awareness, equipping 100 youths and students from institutions around Bintulu with practical, hands-on mental wellness skills they can apply in daily life.

Drawing on the Sarawakian film Azimat as a cultural framework, participants will be guided to build inner resilience rather than seek external solutions.

Key activities include mindfulness techniques such as box breathing and grounding exercises to help manage stress in high-pressure situations.

Participants will also build emotional agility by learning to understand the spectrum of emotions and respond to grief and distress in healthier ways.

Through the Flip the Script activity, attendees will practise transforming dismissive or unhelpful language into empathetic and supportive communication.

The HeART Space session offers an art-based outlet for emotional expression, while the Safety Net Web activity simulates real-life community support systems.

Three specialist partners – Yayasan Dee Hati (grief and resilience), Teduh Jiwa Counseling & Consultancy (emotional distress and creative therapy), and MENTARI Bintulu (early intervention and suicide prevention) – will lead the programme using evidence-based approaches grounded in CBT and positive psychology.

The workshop is proudly sponsored by Lembaga Pelabuhan Bintulu (LPB), reflecting its commitment to mental health advocacy and community wellbeing beyond its core regulatory role.

Organised by Faradale Media-M Sdn Bhd under the RAKAN Sarawak Destiny Movers series, the programme aims to develop individuals who are not only personally resilient but also capable of supporting peers as first responders in times of emotional need.

Participants will leave with a personal Mental Wellness Toolkit — a set of skills, reflections, and strategies for immediate use in their everyday lives.

Admission is free; for registration and enquiries, contact Ms Saida or Ms Nur at 082-266808, email rsdm@faradalemedia.com, or visit rsdm.faradalemedia.com.
