SIBU: The Sarawak Education Expo 2025 organised by Yayasan Sarawak is offering students latest information on educational pathways, sponsorship opportunities and assistance to school leavers as well as to members of the public.
Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development, Datuk Seri Roland Sagah Wee Inn, who represented Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, officially launched the expo held at Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud Chancellor Hall, University of Technology Sarawak (UTS) here today.
According to the press statement from Yayasan Sarawak, this fourth edition of the expo is targeting 19,500 participants across 30 locations throughout the state.
The expo programme includes mini exhibitions of institutions under the Yayasan Sarawak, namely Swinburne University, Curtin University, UTS, i-CATS University, Laila Taib College, CENTEXS, Sarawak Skills and Sarawak International School Foundation; career talks; career exhibitions by government, private and skills agencies; and parent awareness programmes on family leadership and the importance of STEM education.
During the official event, a presentation ceremony for Yayasan Sarawak’s Outstanding Student Award Certificates to 1,525 SPM students and 461 outstanding STPM students for the year 2024 was held.
In addition, there was also a symbolic presentation of Yayasan Sarawak Local Scholarships to 2,900 Secondary School students and School Uniform Assistance to 29,900 students throughout the state.
Yayasan Sarawak Director, Datuk Mohamad Junaidi Mohidin, said the expo provides opportunity for students to register directly with the relevant institution of their choice, whereby they will have the opportunity to receive sponsorship, subject to the terms and criteria.
