Yayasan Sarawak International School students shine in Young Innovators Challenge

The Girls Power Rangers team from Yayasan Sarawak International Secondary School Sibu proudly presents their project ‘True Form’ during the Young Innovators Challenge (YIC) 2025 district-level competition.

SIBU: Students from Yayasan Sarawak International Secondary School Sibu have earned top honours at the district level of the Young Innovators Challenge (YIC) 2025, hence securing their place in the upcoming state semi-finals.

The Gold Award was clinched by Team FIC, comprising Fernandesz Arith Anak James (Y7-4), Nickodemus Julian Anak Shalferi Harry (Y7-5), and Deffnny Amelly Au Yii Xsien (Y7-1).

Meanwhile, Team Z took home the Silver Award through the efforts of Abang Aisy Miqhael Bin Abg Ahmad Salimin (Y7-3), Taiyo Daniel Bin Morriyan (Y7-5), and Serevan Anak Nelson Nyalu (Y7-4).

The school also proudly recognised the spirited participation of Team Girls Power Rangers, comprising Nurul Arissa Imanina Ilham (Y7-3), Adelia Zara Zenia Mohd Habib (Y7-3), and Dhiya Nur Qaisara Mohammad Affendy (Y7-5).

Although they did not advance to the next round, their dedication, creativity and innovative spirit were commended as an inspiration to their peers.

The semi-final round is scheduled to take place on August 30 (coming Saturday) at Pustaka Sibu, where Team FIC and Team Z will represent the school at the state level.

Yayasan Sarawak International Secondary School expressed gratitude to teachers Collyne and Miss Syahidda, mentor Mohd Hazami, and parents of the students for their unwavering support and guidance.

“The standard of competition was exceptionally high, and we are truly grateful that our students rose to the occasion with such maturity and creativity.

“We are confident that Team FIC and Team Z will continue to shine at the next stage,” the school said in a statement.
