KUCHING: A Creative Directory aimed at supporting creative industry stakeholders will be developed and is expected to be completed by November or December this year.
Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Snowdan Lawan said the directory was a collaborative project between the Ministry and Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus.
“We are in the process of creating a comprehensive creative directory, with Swinburne compiling the information,” Snowdan told a press conference held at Waterfront Hotel, before chairing the first meeting of Sarawak Creative Industry Committee (SCIC) today (May 3).
He likened the directory to the Yellow Pages, describing it as an essential tool for anyone looking for information about various creative sectors.
“It will include detailed listings of names, business contacts, and even QR codes for easy access to their information, covering a range of professionals from artisans to fashion designers and craftspeople.
“This directory is crucial for easily locating creative talents in the state. Once completed, it will be made available to the public,” he added.
