KUCHING: Swim Art Aquatic Club (SAC) made a strong impression at the MAS/NSC/MILO Splash Swim Series, finishing second overall in the East Malaysia region meet held from June 14 to 15 at the Pandelela Rinong Aquatic Centre.

The team hauled an impressive 15 gold, 17 silver, and 14 bronze medals — an achievement that reflects the club’s growing presence in the regional swim scene.

SAC held a modest prize presentation at its premises to recognise the swimmers’ dedication and hard work.

Two standout performers stole the spotlight. Roman Aryan Raphael (Boys 12–13) broke three meet records — in the 200m backstroke, 50m butterfly, and 200m butterfly —while Ethan Tin (Boys 10–11) set a new record in the 50m butterfly.

“I’m incredibly proud of how the team performed.

“Their hard work, discipline, and team spirit paid off. This is a young team, but they’ve shown maturity and hunger for improvement,” said head coach Gary Lau.

He added that the entire squad gave their best, and the results were a clear reflection of their training commitment.

The Splash Swim Series, organised by Malaysia Aquatics (MAS), was held concurrently across the Northern, Central, and East Malaysia regions.

SAC are now gearing up for Leg 2 of the SportExcel Circuit, scheduled for August 1–3 at the Kota Kinabalu Sports Complex Aquatic Centre.
