KUCHING: Power Aquatics Swimming Club impressed at the 2nd Inter-Club Swimming Competition, breaking records and winning medals across age groups in a strong team showing.

Held at the Pandelela Rinong Aquatic Centre from May 10 to 12, the event drew around 218 participants.
The meet showcased rising talent and the growing unity within Sarawak’s swimming scene.

In the 8 and under category, Ilyana Arissa of Power Penguin SC emerged as a standout performer with three records, four gold, two silver, and two bronze medals.

On the boys’ side, Samuel Kwong Lik Ling of PASC matched the momentum with three records, four gold, three silver, and one bronze.

The 9-10 age group was dominated by PASC swimmers, with Larissa Ya Xuan Yii leading the girls’ division with an impressive eight records and eight gold medals, along with two silvers.

Her teammate Nathaniel He Jun Chai also delivered strong results, securing four records, four gold, four silver, and one bronze in the boys’ category.

In the 11-12 bracket, PASC’s Caitlyn Xuan Yeo brought home one record, six gold, six silver, and one bronze, while Jonas He Xuan Chai swept five records and ten gold medals, cementing his place as one of the top male swimmers of the competition.

The 13-14 division saw continued dominance from PASC, with Elisha Ern Lee collecting six records, seven gold, and one silver in the girls’ events, while Sheamus Heng Yi Chew impressed in the boys’ events with eight records and eleven gold medals.

In the 15-16 age group, Chereen Yi Rui Ngo of PASC stood out with six records and eleven gold medals.

On the boys’ side, Ryan Colby Kueh of Kawaras put in a strong showing with six records and seven gold medals.

Among the senior swimmers aged 17 and over, Janessa Liew of Kawaras earned two records and four gold medals, while Job Xi Jay Tan of Hornbill Swimmer rounded out the top performances with three records, six gold, one silver, and one bronze.

Present at the prize-giving ceremony on Monday (May 12) were Amateur Swimming Association of Sarawak (ASAS) president Datuk Wee Hong Seng, PASC president Kapitan Tan Kun Gee, and organising chairperson Voon Yong Hui.
