KUCHING: The 2025 Parti Rakyat Sarawak’s (PRS) Triennial Delegates Conference (TDC) underlined the crucial roles of the party’s youth and women in shaping its future and strengthening Sarawak’s voice within Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).
PRS’ Deputy President, Datuk Majang Renggi, described the convention as more than a routine meeting, calling it “the convention that shapes our destiny”.
He told delegates today at the PRS TDC that the party’s youth are “the heartbeat of PRS”, responsible for carrying the torch of the party’s struggle into the future.
“The world today demands leaders who are bold, dynamic and visionary. Be the voice that drives change while staying true to your values and principles,” he said, urging the youth to act as a bridge between generations and to spearhead transformation in the digital era.
Majang stressed that PRS youth must strengthen their presence within GPS, defend Sarawak’s rights and autonomy, and empower rural communities through innovation, agriculture and entrepreneurship.

Turning to the women’s wing, he described PRS’ women as “the backbone and balance of this party”, highlighting their strength, compassion and wisdom.
He urged them to play an active role in decision-making at all levels and to act as agents of unity and social harmony, while shaping policies that are inclusive and family-oriented.
“Your empathy is your power, and your power brings balance to progress,” he said, adding that women are key in nurturing values and shaping future leaders.
On the TDC itself, Majang said it provided a platform to discuss, debate and elect new leadership to guide PRS forward.
He reminded delegates to uphold the spirit of family, to win with dignity and lose gracefully, and to ensure democratic processes strengthen rather than divide the party.
“The political landscape is changing rapidly. Citizens are more discerning, the youth are more vocal, and social media has become a new arena for struggle.
“PRS must evolve or be left behind,” he said, stressing the party’s mission to protect Sarawak’s rights, empower its people, and ensure no community is left behind.
