SRI AMAN: A youth from Kampung Hilir, here died at the Sri Aman Hospital on Monday morning after he was involved in a road accident at Jalan Brayun area late Sunday evening.
Sri Aman District Police chief, DSP Haji Othman Sulaiman said the youth has been identified as 18-year-old, Abdul Mutalid.
“He was believed to be involved in a self-accident at the Taman Suria area, Jalan Brayun here while riding his motorcycle around 6.45pm last Sunday.
“Abdul Mutalid sustained serious head injuries in the accident and was taken to Sri Aman Hospital for treatment,” he said.
However, the victim was pronounced dead by the Sri Aman Hospital at 8.30am on Monday while he was about to enter an ambulance to bring him to Sarawak General Hospital, Kuching for further treatment.
“The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act, 1987,” Haji Othman said.
