SPAOH: The PUBG MOBILE OOOHAAA Sarawak Activation Tour made its 13th stop here today, drawing 18 teams and 90 participants from across the state to compete in a tournament with a total prize pool of RM5,000.

According to a statement on Saturday (July 25), Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas graced the event held at Dewan Serbaguna Spaoh.

The activation is an initiative by Tencent Games aimed at engaging the PUBG MOBILE community across Sarawak through grassroots activities, community interactions, and esports competitions.

It was organised by the Sarawak Esports Association (SESA) and supported by Kelab Anak Bukit Saban and the Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC) according to the statement.

In his remarks, Uggah described esports as a healthy activity for youth and said it gives local talent the chance to showcase their abilities and pursue success on a global stage, he said in the statement.

He also acknowledged SESA’s role in creating such opportunities through grassroots programmes and competitions, and called for continued collaboration among stakeholders to strengthen digital opportunities for Sarawakians, supported by connectivity initiatives such as MySRBN.

Betong MP Datuk Dr Richard Rapu @ Aman Begri accompanied Uggah at the event.

Team ZONE SQ emerged champion, taking home RM2,500, followed by Team Akatsuki as first runner-up with RM1,500 and Legacy Rebel as second runner-up with RM400.
