KOTA SAMARAHAN: The younger generation should draw inspiration from Rosli Dhobi’s courage and sacrifice in building strong values, standing for justice, and shaping their identity.
TVS reported Datuk Mustaffa Kamil Ayub, member of the Board of Directors of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), as saying that Rosli Dhobi’s actions prove that youth bravery is not merely a phrase, but a principle demonstrated through action driven by love for the country and justice.
He urged young people to emulate this spirit by being fearless in defending truth, facing challenges head-on, and striving for social justice while contributing to community development.
“Even though Rosli Dhobi was very young at the time, his willingness to fight and sacrifice for Sarawak’s independence 75 years ago was extraordinary. He was prepared to give everything without fear,” Mustaffa said during the Madani Youth Special Session at Jubilee Hall, UiTM Sarawak Branch, Samarahan Campus last night ( Oct 16).
He added that the ideals displayed by Rosli Dhobi reflect the courage of youth who dare to oppose oppression and uphold the dignity of the nation and state.
Mustaffa emphasised that this fighting spirit should be instilled in university students, shaping them into a Madani generation equipped not only with knowledge but also leadership, social responsibility, and a spirit of sacrifice.
He also called on universities to serve as platforms for fostering positive activism and producing graduates guided by values of humanity, justice, and moderation.
