KUCHING: Ten men were picked up in an integrated ‘Ops Cegah’ that swept across three districts last week, as authorities intensified efforts against drug abuse.

The National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK) Kuching said the operation spanned Kuching, Lundu and Bau, zeroing in on identified hotspots.

Among them include Kampung Astana, Bandar Baru Semariang, Kampung Perian in Lundu, Kampung Singai Atas in Bau, and Kampung Tanjung Bako.

Screenings carried out throughout the operation found all detainees positive for methamphetamine and THC. No traces of ketamine or mitragyna (ketum) were detected.

All suspects are being investigated under Section 3(1) of the Drug Addicts (Treatment and Rehabilitation) Act 1983.

AADK reaffirmed its commitment to curbing drug abuse, saying enforcement operations will continue to be intensified to safeguard public safety and community well-being.
