10,000 enthusiasts expected at international big bike festival on May 22-24

KUCHING: The 24th Borneo Island International Big Bike Festival (BIIBBF) 2026 is set to return to Sarawak, bringing together around 10,000 motorcycle enthusiasts from across the region and beyond.

This was announced by by Deputy Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability Sarawak, Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni, at a press conference on the BIIBBF 2026 on Friday night.

Organised by Borneo Island Big Bikers (BIBB) Sarawak, the annual festival will take place at the Kuching Waterfront from May 22 to 24.

The event is rotated among Borneo territories and supported by five main biker clubs, namely PEMODA (Brunei Darussalam), BIBB (Sarawak), IMBI (Indonesia), SBBA (Sabah), and LA Riders (Labuan).

Having first been held in 2000, the festival has grown into one of the largest biker gatherings in Borneo, attracting participants from neighbouring countries while promoting tourism and motorsports culture.

Dr Hazland said the festival is expected to draw strong international participation and provide a platform for cultural exchange.

“This festival is more than just a gathering for bikers. It showcases Sarawak’s culture and hospitality while strengthening ties within the regional biking community,” he said.

Among the highlights lined up are a gala dinner, entertainment performances by local and Peninsular Malaysian artistes, a convoy to Bako, cultural showcases, lucky draws, and various booths offering food, merchandise and riding gear.

The festival is also expected to further boost Kuching’s tourism appeal, while reinforcing Sarawak’s position as a vibrant hub for regional events.
