KUCHING: Police have detained two individuals after they tested positive for drugs during an operation at an entertainment outlet along Jalan Tun Jugah here today.
Kuching district police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said officers from the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) carried out the operation at the premises.
“A total of 16 individuals, comprising men and women, were checked during the operation.
“Initial urine screening tests showed that two individuals tested positive for drugs. Both suspects were arrested under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” he said.
Police said enforcement and monitoring at entertainment outlets would continue to prevent drug abuse activities and ensure public safety and wellbeing.
