KUCHING: A total of 17 vehicles were seized during an enforcement operation conducted by the Sarawak Road Transport Department (RTD) along the Samarahan Expressway last night (May 15).
The department said 895 vehicles of various types were inspected during the operation, which uncovered offences including driving without a valid licence, expired licences, and the use of non-compliant HID or LED lights.
Among the vehicles seized were two cars, a luxury jeep, a luxury window van, a four-wheel drive vehicle, 10 motorcycles, a motorcycle ridden by a foreign national, and a cement mixer lorry.
The vehicles were seized for offences such as expired road tax, lack of insurance coverage, driving without a valid licence, as well as extreme vehicle modifications.
