KUCHING: Two vehicles were destroyed by fire at a house in Hakka Avenue Estate, Jalan Penrissen, early this morning.
State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) spokesperson said the department received a distress call at 2.25am and deployed firefighters from Batu Lintang and Tabuan Jaya stations to the scene.
Upon arrival they found two vehicles, a sedan car and a four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle parked at the car porch, in flames.
The fire destroyed both vehicles and also caused the minor damage to the car porch.
Swift actions of the firefighters prevented the fire from spreading and causing further damage to the house.
Firefighters managed to contain the situation about an hour later.
No injuries or casualties were reported during the incident. The operation ended at 3.43am.
