BAU: A local man under a Police Supervision Order (OPP) was arrested less than a day after he allegedly breached the terms of his supervision by failing to remain at his designated residence during a routine police compliance check.

Bau Police Chief, Supt Mohd Haide A. Rahman, said the 30-year-old was picked up in Taman Senggi, Siniawan, at around 9:00 am on Saturday following an operation launched to locate him.

“The man was found to be absent from his assigned residence when officers from Siniawan Police Station conducted a routine inspection at a workers’ quarters in Taman Senggi on the night of June 26.

“His family members told police that the man had left the house. Officers maintained surveillance until 11:00 pm, but he failed to return, prompting police to launch a manhunt. The operation led to his arrest the following morning in Taman Senggi area,” he said.

Preliminary investigations found that the suspect is serving a 12-month Police Supervision Order from May 12, 2026, to May 11, 2027.

Under the order, he is required to reside at a designated address in Taman Senggi throughout the supervision period.

The case is being investigated under Section 15(2)(f) of the Crime Prevention Act 1959 for allegedly breaching the conditions of the Police Supervision Order.

Haide said police would not compromise with individuals who disregard the conditions imposed under the order as firm action would be taken to ensure public safety and maintain public order.
