KUCHING: Out of the 62 projects worth RM89.69 million approved under the Integrated Regional Samarahan Development Agency (IRSDA) for the 2023-2027 period, 20 have been successfully completed.

Batang Sadong Member of Parliament, Rodiyah Sapiee, said five projects have ‘Ikut Jadual’ (on schedule) status, six projects are still in the process of preparing tender documents while the remaining 31 projects will be implemented in 2026 and 2027.

She reminded all committee members to work hard, be committed, and ensure that each project is completed on schedule, considering that a total of 30 projects have been planned to be implemented next year.

“I request cooperation and strong commitment from all parties to ensure that this plan can be implemented smoothly and provide great benefits to the Samarahan community,” she added.

“With the experience and expertise available, I am confident that we can formulate a more integrated strategy for the well-being of the local people.”

She said this in her speech while chairing the IRSDA Agricultural Development Sub-Committee Meeting here on Wednesday.

She said that each project needs to be monitored and reported in terms of increased income, or the outcome of the project, and the number of farmers or smallholders who receive benefits.

At the same time, she urged the Agriculture Department to formulate a strategic plan to accelerate the implementation of the project by making early projections to identify delays and overcome them immediately.
