KUCHING: A total of 231 individuals were conferred state awards and medals by the Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, in a grand investiture ceremony at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) complex here today.
The ceremony recognised outstanding service, dedication and contributions by recipients towards Sarawak’s holistic development and the well-being of its people.
The investiture began with the conferment of the ‘Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang’ (P.B.K), which was first presented to Hasbilah Mohamad Salleh, along with Dr Johnny Pangkas, Dr Huzaimah Husin, and 20 other recipients.
This was followed by the ‘Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti’ (P.P.B), awarded to 31 recipients such as Yalin Asan, Ong Ah Peng and Salbiah Salleh.
Others honoured included Major (R) Kaha Othman, Ha Tung Ing and Nala Runggai, who received the ‘Ahli Bintang Sarawak’ (A.B.S).
More than 30 individuals were also conferred the ‘Ahli Bintang Kenyalang’ (A.B.K), among them Abang Zakaria Abang Ali, Anthony Bang and Dorin Dobin.
Meanwhile, 62 recipients received the ‘Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji’ (P.P.T), including Fabian Aru, Kipli Dolah and Dorti Mulong.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of the ‘Bentara Bintang Sarawak’ (B.B.S) to over 60 recipients, among them Ali Timbang, Bujang Entili and Alyssa Mona Mulok.
The occasion was further graced by the presence of the wife of the State Governor, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi.
