SEBUYAU: A total of 26 organisations in the Sebuyau district received allocations amounting to RM227,000 under the Minor Rural Project Grant (MRP).
The grants were presented by the Minister of Utility and Telecommunication and Sebuyau assemblyman, Datuk Seri Julaihi Narawi.
Recipients included associations, organisations and village committees in the Sebuyau area. The funds were intended to support community, religious and social development activities at the grassroots level.
At the same event, Julaihi also presented the Sebuyau District Education Incentive, totaling RM4,200, to 10 students pursuing Diploma and Bachelor’s degrees at various public and private higher education institutions. The initiative recognised and encouraged their academic achievements.
He said the Sarawak government remained committed to assisting the people through various initiatives.
He added that this was important in ensuring direct benefits to rural communities, including in the fields of education and community development.
“Therefore, I hope that all recipients will make the best use of the contributions and grants received to ensure the benefits are enjoyed by all levels of the community,” he said.
