BALINGIAN: A total of 300 packs of bubur lambuk were distributed to residents around Balingian during the Bubur Lambuk Distribution Programme held here recently.
The programme was organised by the Pekan Balingian Progressive Youth Club in collaboration with the Balingian Brotherhood Sport Recreation Club.
According to the Chairman of the Pekan Balingian Progressive Youth Club, Mohd Helmi Zamil, this was the first programme held during the month of Ramadan.
“Alhamdulillah, it received an encouraging response from club members and the local community,” he told Suara Sarawak.
Helmi also expressed gratitude to those who participated in the gotong-royong (communal work) to prepare the bubur lambuk before its distribution.
He emphasised the importance of teamwork in ensuring the smooth execution of future programmes.
Furthermore, he noted that initiatives like these help strengthen bonds within the community.
Helmi expressed hope that the programme would continue as an annual tradition during Ramadan.
