MELAKA: Thirty-six cadets from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) have been officially commissioned as Kor Sukarelawan Polis Siswa/Siswi (SUKSIS) Inspectors at a grand parade and certificate presentation ceremony hosted by Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM).
The 21st Public Universities SUKSIS Inspector Appointment Ceremony 2025 brought together 942 graduating cadets from 19 public universities across Malaysia, underscoring the strength of the nation’s student volunteer police corps.
The passing-out parade was officiated by Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail, who commended the cadets for their dedication to public service and community safety.
Of the 36 cadets commissioned, eight were from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEP), demonstrating strong interest in the university’s business discipline.
Six cadets each came from the Faculty of Cognitive Sciences and Human Development (FSKPM) and the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSK), reflecting the vital role of human-centred studies in community policing.
The Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts (FSGK) contributed five cadets, while three cadets each represented the Faculty of Engineering (FK), Faculty of Resource Science and Technology (FSTS), and Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FSKTM).
The Faculty of Language and Communication Education (FPBK) rounded off the group with two cadets.
The ceremony also honoured individual excellence within the UNIMAS team.
Nurul Efina Binti Rosman, from the Faculty of Economics and Business, was named Best Overall Cadet.
Leong Lee Chieng of the Faculty of Engineering received the Best Academic Cadet Award.
Meanwhile, Dzulfahdzli Bin Zakaria from the Faculty of Cognitive Sciences and Human Development earned the Best Outdoor Training Award.
The UNIMAS SUKSIS team was supported by senior police officers and university leaders who travelled to Melaka to guide and encourage the contingent.
