50 families benefit from food aid

KUCHING: Saberkas Batu Lintang Branch organised a food aid distribution programme for 50 families, including persons with disabilities (PwDs), single mothers, and underprivileged groups at Pusat Warga Tua, Jalan Ong Tiang Swee here, today (May 24).

The programme was officiated by Batu Lintang assemblyman See Chee How, whose presence lent weight to the community-driven initiative.

Also in attendance were PBB Pantai Damai Youth Chief cum Exco SABERKAS Negeri Sarawak Adzim Abdul Rahman Junaidi and SABERKAS Batu Lintang Branch Secretary Wilson Tan.

In his opening address, SABERKAS Batu Lintang Branch Chairman Patrick Tan expressed his appreciation to all present.

“We gather here today with one simple but important purpose — to extend our helping hand to members of our community who are in need,” he said.

He emphasised that community service goes beyond mere activities but is also about showing compassion, unity, and concern for the welfare of the people.

Tan also paid tribute to See, noting that “his continuous support, commitment, and concern towards the welfare of the people in Batu Lintang greatly encourages all of us in our efforts to strengthen community welfare and solidarity”.

“To all recipients here today, we sincerely hope this contribution will help ease your burden, even if only in a small way,” he said.

The programme reflects SABERKAS Batu Lintang Branch’s ongoing commitment to uplifting vulnerable members of the community through meaningful grassroots action.
