BINTULU: Over 700 participants took part in a Unity Bike Ride in conjunction with the state level Malaysia Day celebration at Lapangan Terbang Lama here.
The flag-off for the 20km bike ride was officiated at by Transport Deputy Minister Datuk Henry Harry Jinep at 7.30am on Friday (Sept 15).
Also present were Infrastructure and Port Development Deputy Minister Datuk Majang Renggi, Jepak assemblyman Talib Zulpilip, State Secretary Datuk Seri Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki and Bintulu Division Deputy Resident Hussaini Hakim.
Meanwhile over 5,000 guests attended the Hari Malaysia Peringkat Negeri 2022 celebration at 7pm on Friday (Sept 15).
Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib were the guests of honour for the celebration.
Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Open and his wife Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang were also present.
Among the highlights were performances by local artistes such as Datuk M. Nasir, Andi Bernadee, Ramles Walter, Florence Lo, Claudia Geres, Safar Ghafar, Sazia Selir and Max Kueh.
The night of celebration ended with a grand fireworks display.
