Speaking to reporters, Philip said Jackson joined the police force and was attached to GOF 10th Battalion, Sibu Lanang Camp on Jan 1, 2000.

He said Jackson then had to retire due to health reasons on Dec 15, 2012 with his last position as Lans Corporal.

“While in the the police force, in 2006, Jackson was diagnosed with left basal ganglia bleed secondary to hypertensive,” he said.

Jackson’s wife works as a cleaner at Sibu Hospital. They have four sons aged between 14 and 24.

She had overheard conversations with patients seeking medical reports at Sibu Hospital’s medical records counter and how to proceed with Socso’s disability pension.

After completing all the required documentation, she submitted an application for the Disability Scheme for her husband on March 3 and was referred to the Socso doctoral council on March 4.
