3,000 food packages delivered

A total of 3,000 packages of food items were distributed to the low-income group within the areas of Padungan, Pending, Batu Lintang, and Kota Sentosa.

KUCHING: Under the Sarawak Government Food Assistance Programme during the Covid-19 pandemic, 3,000 food packages were distributed to the low-income group within the areas of Padungan, Pending, Batu Lintang and Kota Sentosa.

“Since April 5, a total of 6,900 packages of food items have been delivered, including the 3,000 packages today,” said Tan Kai, a political secretary to the Chief Minister yesterday.

He said the programme was implemented by the State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) and carried out by the Divisional Disaster Management Committee under the Kuching Resident’s Office and Kuching District Office.

He added that the Kuching Resident’s Office has set up a hotline number (082-507700) for those who require food assistance during this period. The operating hours is from 8am to 5pm.
